Designed to help you practice safe towing, available Smart Hitch delivers the technology to help you distribute the weight in your trailer. It activates through your center touchscreen to determine your approximate trailer tongue weight and informs you that your trailer weight is distributed correctly. Smart Hitch measures the tongue weight of your trailer through the connection process calculating its appropriate weight and guides weight distribution onscreen with the FordPass App, Smart Taillamps, or on your SYNC 4 screen.
This first-in-its-class available feature helps estimate the approximate payload weight. You can then view onboard scales status through the SYNC 4 screen or via an LED visual display in the taillamps that lets you know your load status as you add payload. That way you know what you’re carrying is balanced and doesn’t exceed the weight your vehicle can handle.
Stay informed if your trailering lights go out. The available Smart Trailer Tow Connector informs you if something regarding your trailer needs attention. Find out information like when your tow or turn indicator lamps are out or there are brake lamps or trailer battery problems via the tow activity screen.
Dynamic hitch assist can help when you’re trying to line up and attach a trailer to your F-150 pickup. Put your truck in Reverse, and the system will be your on-screen guide to help you align your hitch with a trailer using the lines that indicate the direction your truck will travel in reverse. No need for spotters or getting out of the cab.
Adaptive Suspension is fully automatic depending on the drive mode you select and dynamically adjusts shock absorber stiffness in real time to match the road surface and driver inputs. By monitoring suspension position, vehicle loading, vehicle speed, road conditions and steering it adjust suspension damping for enhanced vehicle control, particularly when towing or hauling heavy loads. Standard on Limited, and available on LARIAT, King Ranch and Platinum.
